Fantastic Restaurant & Bar

The on-site restaurant/bar was a highlight of my stay. I found the dinner food excellent, and while breakfast options were limited, any extras were offered at a small cost without compromising quality. Having such convenience right next door was fantastic!

Nice Little Pool Area

The hotel features a beautiful little pool area. It looked clean and inviting, and although I didn't use it, I appreciated that it was there as a quick escape to cool off. It definitely added to the relaxed vibe of the hotel.

Great Surfing Spot

Backyard Hotel is right next to a surfers beach with big waves and black sand. The surf conditions were fantastic, and it was an absolute thrill to catch some waves. Just keep in mind to know your limits, as the waves can get quite strong!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, especially for our first night in Costa Rica. The ocean view layout was impressive, and the small pool was clean and perfect for our kids. There was a surf competition during our visit that added a fun vibe, although the music was quite loud. Overall, it was a great place to kick off our trip.

This hotel is a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jaco, offering a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful beach access. The rooms are spacious with amazing views right on the beach, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. However, the dining next door can get a bit noisy at times, and there were minor issues with ants in the bathroom. Overall, it’s a great value for money and a wonderful place to relax.

I had a frustrating experience with the check-in process; it took way longer than expected, and I was really unhappy with how the staff handled it. The room, while nice, didn't make up for the inconvenience. Luckily, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel itself has potential with its amenities. However, the noise from traffic was quite bothersome throughout the night.

I had an incredible stay at this hotel right on the beach! The views were stunning, especially during sunset, and the nearby restaurants were convenient.
